Imaging for Clinical Trials Project

Many of the new imaging biomarkers target functional and/or molecular parameters of cancer. In order to capitalize on the availability of these imaging biomarkers in clinical trials, networked imaging trials are essential to provide standardized tools for single- or multi-modality image acquisition, image analysis, development of standardized operating procedures and standardized reporting. Centralized imaging review will provide quality assurance for imaging endpoints and the expertise of an Imaging Trials Project Network (radiologists, scientists, managers, and accredited readers) will make imaging biomarkers more attractive for routine inclusion in cancer clinical trials and provide a competitive advantage for industry trials.
